LET GOD'S WORD GUIDE YOUR EXPECTATIONS

ADELOLA EDEMA

This night in Church, the pastor that preached talked about being led by the flesh or experience as against being led by the spirit or by the word (the message is part of a series on cultivating the excellent spirit). He said that our faith or expectations for life should not be based on our previous experiences or another person's experience/testimony. He said it may work fine, and it may not, but God's desire for us is to base our faith an...d expectations on His word and by the leading of the Spirit.
I started thinking about some ladies who base their expectations of marriage on other people's gists and experiences. So you have heard that some Christian men cheat on their wives or beat their wives, because of that you become anxious and live in fear waiting for your own husband to tow that line, or you are afraid to get married.
Any testimony or experience that does not agree with God's word should not guide your expectations for life. God's will for you is to be led by His word and by His Spirit.

MOVE ON

OLUWAFOLAKEMI IBIDOKUN

We all want to set a good example, but sometimes we fall short and as humbling as it is to mess up, God uses those failures to ....
"...... [make] it clear that our power ... from [Him], not .... ourselves"
~ 2 Cor 4:7 NLT
...
Unlike YOU and I that are fond of judging people, busy reading people and hoping for either ...
Confirmation of the life-changing power of Christ Jesus!
Or ...
For a chance to say .....
'See, she calls herself/himself a Christian, Christians are all hypocrites!'
Interestingly, God; the Almighty doesn't glaze over the shortcomings of man, even the most notable of saints!
They are "...... written down so we don't repeat their mistakes ..."
~1 Cor 10: 11 TM
Let's see together ....
Abraham, 'the friend of God' lied about Sarah being his wife
Moses, the great leader, got angry and disobeyed God
David, 'a man after God's heart,' committed adultery and then covered his tracks with murder
Peter, head of the Church, denied Jesus not once but three times!
John Mark gave up and went home during a missionary trip!
They are all in there, been there, warts and all
Yet! The Lord didn't give up on them!
Apostle Paul says ...
"..... We are just as capable of messing .... up as they were ....."
~ 1 Cor 10:12 TM
So, the charge for TODAY is ....
Don't get discouraged when YOU stumble
Admit your mistakes!
Ask God for forgiveness!
Learn from what happened!
Apologise to the people involved!
Forgive yourself!
Move on!
Shalom!

SUNDAY SERVICE POST 03072016

OYINLOLA KATRIAN NWOSU

I learnt that no seed can germinate and bring forth fruit if you don't sow it first.

Secondly, don't compare your output with another because the grace given to us differs.

He knows us and has given us according to our strength n capabilities.

Lastly, we should bear fruits in all season, no excuse.

God help us all.

THE SUNDAY SERVICE POST 12062016

Lillian Peter

I learnt that Christians have been redeemed to operate in the supernatural. To do that we must key into obedience to God's word, studying the word, praying and building up our faith in Him. Personal kingdom advancement should also be part of our lives.

As we seek Him, then can we be given the grace to operate in the supernatural naturally...from glory to glory.

Dolapo Lawal

I learnt that GOD does not look at one's race to use them for HIS glory.

Caleb was a Kenizzite by blood ties, even though he had lived in Judah for long enough to be considered as of the tribe of Judah. When it became time for GOD to move the Israelites to the Promised Land, God was pleased with Joshua and Caleb (notwithstanding Caleb's nationality, but only considering his heart, his 100% belief in HIM) because of the ten spies sent, only they were the only 2 who were confident in GOD's ability to give them the land.

Miracles stem from faith in GOD, and faith gives us the rest that CHRIST promised in Matt 11:28.

Testimony Time - Testimony of Childbirth

A sister shares her testimony:

This is my testimony! I was diagnosed of fibriod in 2011 and had irregular flow for years and never knew what ovulation was. My period came twice a month,14days for each with a two day interval.

I got married in 2015 and I was scared that i might never get pregnant because after my marriage, my period never stopped, everyday for 3months with thick clothings of blood. It poured like water and i got stained at random. I used two pack of pads backed with tissue everyday, went to different hospitals and tradomedical homes yet no solution.Even the heavens seem closed to my prayers and i almost gave up on God but suddenly when my might has failed me,God showed up.

I was directed to a gynaecologist who told me i didnt have fibriod. He said I had a growth that my womb was trying to push out and I went in for surgery. Finance came miraculously(cause we didnt have a dime) and it was successful. The bleeding stopped.

Isaw my period for 4days(miracle 1), ovulated for the first time(miracle 2) and missed my period the next month(miracle 3).Today, I am a mother through God's mercy. I am thankful, grateful, joyful and at peace. Please help me thank God for this testimony. He is indeed faithful.

Editor's Note: We thank God for this testimony. May the child and others to come fulfil their God-ordained purpose. Joy and gladness will not cease in your home, sister, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

THERE'S MORE

ADELOLA EDEMA

I don’t have many Bible names that I like, but one stands out among them; Abram. That was Abraham’s name before God changed it in Genesis 17.

I used to have a Bible that had Bible names at the back, with their meanings. I saw the meaning of Abram there then, father of honour, and I fell in love with the name since then. But as beautiful as that name is, God chose to change Abram’s name to Abraham, which means father of many nations (Genesis 17:5). God moved Abram from honour/success to impact; God enlarged his territory, starting with his name.

I believe that it’s the same way in our lives where everything seems good, and God says that there’s more. They say that opposite of best is not worst, but rather good, as having the good can limit us from reaching for the best.

Brethren, don’t let what you have now limit you from getting something greater; don’t let the beautiful environment you are now limit you from getting to somewhere better that God wants to take you to. Honour is not all that God wants for you, He wants impact. He wants you to be a blessing.

GO AND POSSESS THE LAND

Ijeoma Azobandu-Nneji

(From Our Sunday Service Post)

There are no giants anywhere.

It is only a mirage that gives way as you move forward.

Please dear sisters, march forward for God has given us the land and the hearts of our enemies have melted.

Numbers14

The land is good for us to posses.

Some saw obstacles, only two saw the promise and held on to it despite the seeming obstacle.

Believe me what you see is what you get.

See God's promise and go for it, because it is rea
