ADELOLA EDEMA
Some weeks ago, a pastor shared from Luke 1:31-38 in my Church. I noticed something while he read, and he touched on it too. I felt that I should share it with you.
After the angel had told Mary what would happen to her, as per the Holy Spirit making her pregnant, he shared Elizabeth’s testimony with her. Mary was Elizabeth’s cousin, so she knew that Elizabeth was old and without a child, and the angel told her that Elizabeth was pregnant already.
For me, I loved that in verse 37 as he shared the testimony, he said “with God, nothing shall be impossible”. And Mary’s faith was strengthened and she said “be it unto me according to your WORD.
Mary heard Elizabeth’s testimony, and focused on God. Testimonies are good, even the angel shared one, but our faith is not in testimonies. Our faith is in God and His word.
Elizabeth getting pregnant in her old age was proof that nothing was impossible with God.
What the testimony did for Mary was stir up her faith in God and His word, so she believed and acknowledged God’s word.
What word do you believe? What word are you standing on?
