Prayers for our husbands (and future husbands)

Shall we pray for our hubbies this morning, sisters?

Father, I and my sisters have come to you this morning, to lift our men up to you.

Firstly, we want to appreciate you for giving us such great and fantastic men as our husbands. Thank you for these wonderful gifts you have brought into our lives. Thank you for making them so unique and extraordinary. Thank you for making them so different and outstanding. Thank you for giving us men like none other. Thank you for giving us men that are incomparable with other men. Thank you for giving us just what we need. Thank you for blessing us with so much in just one man. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. Thank you.

Lord, we ask today that you cause our men to walk in the fullness of what you have prepared for them and prepared them for. We ask that they walk in the fullness of who you made them to be and all you made them for. We ask that you empower them, strengthen them, encourage them and enable them to be everything they should be for you, your Kingdom, for us, for our children, for the family and for the world at large.

Wherever they have missed it in time past, we ask that you restore their understanding and reinstate them to their rightful place and position.

We pray that they be firm in their faith and conviction in you, even as they stand alert and on guard, being fully aware of the devices of the devil.

We ask that they will not be moved to speak, act or conduct their affairs based on sentiments, feelings, pressures or emotions. We ask that they will be obedient only to your will and carry out your injunctions alone. We ask that they will live worthy of you.

We ask that our men will operate in spiritual wisdom and understanding as they go about their daily lives; both within and outside the home. We ask that they will be receptive of your instructions, counsel and guidance at all times. We ask that their spirits will not respond or yield to the voice of strangers but only to you and your word.

Father, we pray that our husbands will not fail in their responsibilities as the spiritual heads of our home. We pray that they will not fail in their responsibilities as the provider for our home. We pray that they will not fail in their responsibilities to defend us, care for us, love us, protect us, and encourage us to be everything you made us to be.

Father, we pray that our husbands would reflect your love to our children. We ask that you help them to raise our children in the tender nurture and training, discipline, counsel, and admonition of you, Lord. We also pray that they would be worthy examples and models for our children to emulate even as they reflect you in their dealings with them.

We pray for every prodigal husband. Father, we ask that you bring them back to their senses. Open their eyes and cause them to see how they have been unfaithful to the marriage covenant. We ask that they realize the height from which they have fallen. We ask that you help them come back to life. We ask that you touch their hearts. We ask that you help them see where they've missed it and gone wrong. We ask that you empower them to make the decision to repent, come back home and begin to do things right.

Thank You Lord for always hearing us.

In Jesus' ever-productive name we have prayed...

Amen.

Submission

No matter how much you succeed in repressing him, "conquering" him or getting him to a point where he "allows peace to reign" by doing things your way, you can't win in a marriage where your hubby sees you as an opponent.

That is not God's best for any marriage. You can't "conquer" your man ...except by giving him the chance and the much needed feeling, to be your hero.

And the weapon for this is submission.

In a post I put up yesterday, I asked for what submission is. Kindly check through the wall to locate the post and read through the beautiful definitions sisters have supplied there.

They have said it all.

Submission is an active CHOICE... A choice to trust, accept and be receptive of our husbands’ God-given inclination to lead us.

If it is a passive attitude, it is not submission.

If it is not your own choice, it is not submission.

Submission is not something we do because we have no choice or because we can't help it or because we are fearful... It is something we CHOOSE to do despite being in a very good position to do the opposite.

It is not for the weak.

It takes strength to submit.

It's very easy to have power and wield such power as you like and desire; anybody can do that. But it takes strength of character to CHOOSE to not use that power you possess, which is obvious to everyone that you have.

That is submission.

It is a deliberate and conscious stripping of your rights, and bowing to another; when you could have CHOSEN to do otherwise.

It is not for the weak; it is for the truly strong.

Benefits of Submission:

Submission unleashes unusual level of grace into your life.

Submission releases unusual depth of wisdom into your heart.

It beautifies you, attracts honour and causes people to bow to your authority.. Because you have first bowed to God's constituted authority over your life.

Submission gives you covering, protection and is a defense against all forms of attacks.

It brings peace, harmony and serenity to your home.

It helps your hubby to perform at his best and in return, gets you what nagging can never get you.

It gets God to fight for you and show you special favours that no prayer can get to you.

Submission is key in gliding easily and walking in the fruits of the Spirit. It causes things to work for you without stress, and with unusual ease. Submission gets you to be exactly where God wants you to be. It ensures you don't miss out on God's best for you in all areas of your life. It is the ladder through which heaven releases its blessings upon you, your dreams and your desires.

Submission also empowers your man to shoulder his God's given responsibilities and helps him to be in the best position to protect, defend and love you in ways nothing else can do. Submission helps him to pursue and be receptive of a loving relationship with you.

The way most men are wired, they thrive more in a competitive environment. That is why some love soccer and others love games that help them compete against some opponent. They have this overwhelming desire to conquer or win. When a wife voluntarily submits to her hubby, by ALLOWING him to take the lead in their marriage, the man no longer feels he is in a competition against her but feels relaxed, needed and trusted and this helps him to be at his best performance as he also finds ways to please her. When we stand on the Word of God and CHOOSE to not take over the reins, our men are empowered, all forms of fears and insecurities are overcome; they lower their defenses. Submission communicates to him that you respect him and fuels his desire to succeed in giving his all. You have "called" him your hero and He wants to prove he really is your hero.

"Wives, be subject (be submissive and adapt yourselves) to your own husbands as [a service] to the Lord." - Eph.5:22 (AMP)

When God asks us to do something, it is because it is GOOD for us.

Amen.

God rewards services done to Him.

Have a beautiful Tuesday, sisters...

(Please, do not submit to evil. Remember Sapphira and Ananias.)

Every wise woman builds her house

Bimbola Tayo-Bamidele

"Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her hands." - Prov.14:1

We, women have a tendency to build everything but our "house". We build our career, business, marriage, husband, children, ministry, friendships but our "house".

We are usually strong and powerful, always there for every other person but for ourselves. We give everyone and everything our all, expecting them to automatically return our gestures with what we "deserve" and when they don't, we feel used and feel like victims and start demanding "justice". We try to help everyone but ourselves.

"House" as I received the interpretation here, refers to our base, our essence, our abode, what we rest on, our foundation, from which every other thing extends.

Every wise woman does not leave her "house" to chance. She does not live the responsibility of building her base to others, not even her husband. She takes responsibility for her life, sanity, health, soundness and well-being. She is first there for herself and it is from that place of rest she has built for herself within herself that she extends to others, including her husband, children and every other thing.

Nobody will build your "house" for you woman, it is your personal responsibility to stay sane, healthy, sound and whole. Don’t attend to everything and everyone at the expense of your house. It is dangerous. Our strength, and capability should extend from a solid base/foundation that we have built within us or we crumble in no time, when faced with normal every day challenges that shake us to the very core of our being.

Let us start with ourselves. The whole world can wait. That is why our unmarried days are the best time for this. But even if we are married, it is not too late. After we are built, we can start reaching out to others from our rich resources ...not run on our default mode.

God created us to be a Help. And the word "Help" gives an impression of someone richly equipped with everything it takes to help another. Things fall apart and we fall apart with them, only when we have refused to pay attention to our base. We build our children, our husband, career, business, ministry and weave our lives around them while leaving our "house" unattended to. We expect them to pay us back by building our house for us, in return for the help we render them, and because it is not theirs to do, we begin to see "unfairness" and begin to demand for equality and justice. When anything happens, we begin to feel like victims of circumstances simply because we have assumed we had our priorities right.

Many of us are not actively "plucking" down our house, but we do when we do not build automatically. When you are not actively and consciously building, you are plucking it down. When you leave it in its default mode and running it on automatic, you are plucking down your house with your hands.

The everlasting God is your refuge, underneath are His everlasting arms. Make God your base. Wisdom, wealth, health, strength and all other materials needed to build your house are in His hands. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Every woman that will be wise must have a good dose of the fear of the Lord to begin with. Your relationship with the Lord should be rich, sound and buoyant. Let it be your base, the foundation from which all other things extends from. Your relationship with God must not be traded for anything, for from it comes your very life. Emotional strength and stability, soundness of mind, clarity and wisdom are all benefits of a house well built. When God is at the centre, things can never fall apart... and when and if they do, you will not fall with them.

Are you a wise woman?

Build your house.

Nobody will do it for you. It is your personal responsibility to stay sane, healthy, sound and whole. Don't attend to everything and everyone at the expense of your house. It is dangerous. Our strength should stem from a strong base or we crumble in no time.

May the Lord increase your understanding and mine...
Amen.

TGD PRAYS DAY 26

There is an interesting story in Job 42:7-10.
Job's friends had foolishly spoken wrongly in their attempt to explain away Job's misfortune.
God asked them to take offerings to Job and he would pray for them lest God dealt with them according to their folly.
The Bible records that Job's captivity was turned around as he prayed for his friends that 'spoke of the Lord what was not right'.

1. Let us pray for those that have mocked us and have not spoken God’s counsel concerning the situation we are dealing with or have dealt with.

2. Let us thank God for a turn around in our situations as we pray for this category of people.

May the Lord hear us as we cry to Him, in Jesus' Name. Amen
