F-E-A-R

Adenike Morounke Adebola

Fear! Fear of the unknown, fear of the devil, fear of enemies, fear of unfriendly friends (add more to the list).

There are so many fearful people around these days...and there is a lot to fear... Diseases, unemployment, insecurity etc.

Jesus talking about the last days said men's heart will fail them as a result of fear. If you're looking for a reason to be fearful, you won't have to look far...

Job said "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came." (Job 3:25-26).

You need to be afraid of fear... Someone said fear is False Evidence Appearing Real. Those we call achievers are not those that did not feel the onslaught of fear. They succeeded because despite the fear they felt, they chose to look to the mighty God that gives us strength to prevail.

The Psalmist says "For Thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by Thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: He is a buckler to all those that trust in him." (Psalm 18:28-30).

How do we escape fear?

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:" (Isaiah 26:3-4).

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33).

The issue is not the surrounding circumstance; it's what you let in that sinks the boat.

Sisters, let us pray...

Dear Father,  I pray for my sisters and I that we are anxious for nothing. Rather, we learn to bring all that concerns us to You by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Thank You, Lord, for Your peace that passes all understanding will permanently reside in our hearts.

Lord, I pray specifically for whatever it is that may seem so hard that we are prone to fear about it. Thank You, Lord, for setting us free from fear and worries, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Have a blessed and productive day.
